Tomorrow is Push for Summit
Dear Traders,
I miss trading with you all! But here is a very exciting update on my Mount Everest hike so far:
The other day I flew to Lukla, which is at 2,800 m (9,200 ft), and stayed there for one night, and then I flew to a small village in the Mahakali Zone named Khar, which is at 4,800 m (15,750 ft). This morning, I came up to 5,800 m (19,000 ft), stayed there, and next, for climatization, I am going to climb Mera Peak, which is at 6,400 m (21,000 ft). I will then fly to the Mount Everest Base Camp, EBC, to do the rotation. EBC is at 5,300 m (17,400 ft).
Since I did a preparation hike in Bolivia, I have been able to go up very fast and I am feeling really good. I usually go at a slower pace, but the preparation seems to have paid off! I am exhausted, but that is how high altitudes impact the body.
It has been another interesting day in the market. First Republic Bank (NYSE:FRC) hit a record low as investors worry about the troubled lender’s plans to turn around its business. This time, the US government isn’t willing to do anything to save the bank – yet. They’ve left First Republic to find their own way out of their liquidity crises. Do you think this is going to be like SVB or, this time, is the Fed going to teach the banks a lesson? As I am writing these words, FRC stock is down 35%!
Another hot market update is that after last week’s warning of continued price cuts, TSLA’s stock fell 0.2% following Jefferies downgrading its stance on the electric vehicle manufacturer to “hold” from “buy”. Earlier today, their stock was down 4%, but it looks like it’s slowly coming back up again.
Today, Peter traded AMD and created a recap for it. Peter usually trades later in the day but today he did a trade at the Open. I must say, it was a nice and clean one! He does a great job explaining his trade in the recap. Please make sure to watch it and like his video.
Ardi’s sessions at the MoneyShow were packed! He made two presentations and the news is that his sessions were some of the only packed ones at the MoneyShow. During the various seminars, we learned how much interest there now is in options trading. Options are the hot topic and everybody wants to expand their investments away from trading stocks only. I am grateful for the diverse team we have. We are definitely at the forefront since we already have an options chatroom!
Ardi is offering a beginners course for options trading in the Trading Terminal Academy. You can take his course for $195, or subscribe to a bundle of courses for $59/month and receive access to all the TTA’s Essentials courses.
Tonight, for Wednesday Psychology, Rande Howell will be leading a webinar titled: Controlling Your Emotions Under Pressure. Are you ever apt to think to yourself: “I know what to do. But I can’t do what I need to do under the pressure of the moment. Instead, I do the exact opposite. It’s like a crazed person comes out of me and destroys my good plans. It’s what stands in my way.”?
If so, you have experienced your instinctual emotional brain, which is looking for short-term survival, hijacking your reasoning thinking brain, which is needed to engage probability. This is the gap that has to be bridged for you to achieve your potential as a trader. The mind that engages uncertainty has to be rebuilt emotionally for that to happen. Tonight, you will learn what it takes to master your emotional nature and become the trader you can be. Rande’s webinar begins at 8pm ET.
Thank you to everyone for all the positive vibes you’ve been sending my way through emails, social media comments, and messages. I am grateful for the BBT community and, spoiler alert, I can’t wait to see those of you who will be able to join us at our next Meetup in NYC! Stay tuned, as we will let you know as soon as the event page is open!
To your success,
Andrew
